Create auto responders with your hosting

Do you want to create auto responders for specific emails so you can notify customers when you are on holiday or notify them that you have received the email and will respond as soon as possible.

The first thin you need to do is log in to your HostGator account. Once you have logged in go to Hosting > Email.

HostGator Control Panel

Once on that page you can scroll to the bottom where you will find the tab, Auto Responder.

HostGator Auto Responders

Select that so you are directed to this new page where you can Add Auto Responders.

HostGator Auto Responders

Select Add Auto Responder.

Add auto responder or modify hostgator

Here you can select

  • Character set: Leave as is
  • Interval: Any time you like
  • Email: Your email you want the auto response to come from
  • From: Your name or company name
  • Subject: Anything you like, example: We have received your email
  • HTML: Check if you want to include HTML in your email.
  • Body: What your auto response will say
  • Start: When will it start
  • Stop: When will it stop. Example: When you come back from holiday on the 5th.

Tip: When you configure an autoresponder, you can use the following tags to format the response message:

%subject% The subject of the message that the autoresponder received.
%from% The sender of the message that the autoresponder received.
%email% The incoming email sender’s address.

Once complete, select Create/Modify.

You will now be able to edit that auto response, delete and or create more.
