Remove www. from URL on WordPress

Removing the www. from your website URL is very simple with WordPress. A lot of websites nowadays are removing the bulky www. as it is not needed to complete the site address. If your website has a www. in the URL simply log into you WordPress website, go to Settings > General.

On this settings page all you need to do is remove the www. from the WordPress Address (URL) and the Site Address (URL). Make sure you only remove the www. and nothing else, then save your settings.

If you have Webmaster Tools you will need to configure your changes on there also, if not you will not need to worry but we still recommend getting Webmaster Tools, we have a free online course here which will teach you how to setup your account for free.

Log into your Webmaster Tools account and go to Settings > Site Settings.
